The Community Garden
Cultivating Connections,
Building Community 🌱
Join our journey to grow fresh produce, foster friendships, and make a positive impact in Queenstown.
Our Community Garden is more than just a space to grow vegetables—it’s a place to grow friendships, share skills, and contribute to a sustainable Queenstown.
Open to everyone, from green thumbs to gardening newbies, this initiative is about cultivating a sense of belonging while providing fresh produce for volunteers and the wider community.
Throughout the growing months, we gather regularly at our donated plot in the Queenstown Harvest Community Gardens on Gorge Road, for community “working bees” where we plant, water, weed & harvest together — come and join us!
Curious About “WHY” We’re Doing This?
Our "Why" is more than just gardening; it’s about cultivating a community spirit and creating a space to connect with people from diverse backgrounds while learning and sharing skills.
In each working bee, participants share not only tools and soil but also stories and experiences from their diverse backgrounds. This opportunity for exchange enriches our community, creating a tapestry of cultural insights alongside the fruits and vegetables that grow in our garden. It's an opportunity to learn from each other, appreciate different perspectives, and build lasting friendships in the natural beauty of our shared garden space.
Learning how to grow our own healthy food is a natural way to empower our community, and once harvest we'll be donating the food back to those in need. We hope to support other local community support initiatives, such as Happiness House and Baskets of Blessings.
